Interactions of living things
Ecosystem: Is made up of all living and nonliving things
Biotic factors
A biotic
factors
• All of living things in the environment
• ex: animal,plants and fungi
• All nonliving things in the environment
• ex: water, air, soil and rocks
Both Biotic and Abiotic interact with one another
Habitat: The place in an ecosystem where an organism lives
Ex: Fresh water habitat like ponds and rivers
Niche: Is the special role that an organism plays in the ecosystem
Ex: Niche of earthworm's is to break down plant matter in the soil
Invasive species: Are newly introduced organism that can harm the environment
This species grows and reproduce without other animals that hunt it and they spread quickly
Ex: cone toad is known to eat large amounts of beetles so they move the cone toad from their habitat to a sugar cone fields in Australia. They have a toxic skin so No animal can hunt them so their population are increased
They are both poisoning and competing with native species
Predators: organisms that hunt for their food They are important in ecosystem because they control the size of prey population
Prey: organism that are hunted by predator
What do you think will happen when a new species is introduced into certain communities
When a new species is introduced into an ecosystem it can spread quickly if it doesn't have any predators and it will compete with native species on their resources and can cause also extinction of native species
