Fun around the World

We know that many of our readers like adventures and exploring the world. Today
some of our writers want to share three of the most interesting festivals and activities that they have visited this year. Some of these are very famous, others are less known. However, they are all very entertaining for everyone who attends

Rashid A' Marzouqi — Castles made Of ice

Many of my readers know that I like to travel to China. I really enjoy the culture and the beautiful nature. Last January, I visited Harbin, a large city in the northern region of China. Many people do not know that northern China gets very cold in the winter. Local people celebrate by making giant sculptures from ice. They are made by 10,000 workers. The huge event area has some of the largest ice sculptures in
the world. The tallest are 46 meters tall! It is a beautiful place to visit. If you are in China between January 1st and February 15 th, I recommend that you one of the 10 — 15 million visitors to this wonderful event

Zainab A! Shamsi — Fire. Fun

When people think of Scotland, they often think of beautiful mountains and wonderful, old castles. People don't usually think about big festivals and bonfires. Many cities in Scotland have big festivals every year that end with a big bonfire. On the Isle of Skye, an island in western Scotland, people have fireworks and burn a large wocxien boat at the Dunvegan Castle bonfire. I was also excited to attend the
Biggar Bonfire in Biggar, Scotland. This tradition is thousands of years old, and is a very special celebration for the small city. The most important part of these celebrations is that they bring together cities and families for a night of safe fun

SultaD A' Kaabi — Flying Qver the Desert

I love traveling, which means that I have to fly all over the world. However, I have never flown in a hot air balloon before! This year, I decided to travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico to experience the colorful Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. This is not just a balloon ride, it is an entire event. It is a 9- day festival, with over 500 hot air balloons every day. I wanted to start my experience as early as I could, so I joined the 'Dawn Patrol'. This is a group of hot air balloons that leave before sunrise. It was amazing seeing the sunrise over the Southwest American desert. For the rest of the trip, I tried to go on as many hot air balloons as I could, including a strange balloon shaped like a penguin
